Wouldn't that mean the unit was constantly playing the pilot death animation, meaning it would bounce up and down?

Die as in not exist, hence he lost.

What occurs is the unit told to 'get in' the APC (THAT STILL HAS A PILOT) walks up to it then is removed from the game world and loaded into the APC (as a result, the human in the example I gave 'died'). (They didn't DIE, they 'DIED'! Air Quotes)

BZC SP uses the Scriptor, and to my knowledge there's no such command available...

I misunderstood you, I thought you said the pilot of the APC was removed rather than the pilot who was getting in... oops.
