GBD and I just finished testing the scrap options in MP...  seem to work perfectly once OM showed up and slapped us around a bit with his C++ knowledge.  :)   I'm just an egg, good thing he was there to see the stupid mistake I'd made.   Working VERY nice now.

Player lives as the win condition is my weekend work.  A few minor things after that and BZC should be virtually done.  Let's see...

Needs AIP's...  hopefully I'll get some help on that...
MP seems very workable thanks to GBD's rabidosity...
SP missions are done, need testing but seem fine to me...

Th-th-th-that's about all folks.

Bedtime...

I can try to help some with DLLs, but OM is the best bet.

He's scary good...  :)

I actually think I have the mechanics down fairly well now, or at least have working routines that can handle most of what I want to do.

It's the lives limit that's my current focus, and GBD seems to think tossing them into an ESC screen will do the trick.  While that might be 100% BZ1 I'm not sure how Teamplay matches in BZC will handle that...  in BZ1 that meant you were out of the match, while in BZC you'll still be in the game.  As far as leaving them on their team I don't think I can suppress someone using you to 'hold' units, or turning over command to someone as a sort of 'Factory' worker.  (they'd be free to watch the scrap bar and just make units at the most efficient pace...)

1.3pb4 has made leaving/joining and changing command pretty smooth, and I don't want to open up any exploits or create any game-killing issues.

SO...

Best solution would be to close the slot (somehow) and kick the player out of the game (somehow) to the lobby.
Next best is to switch them to Team 0, make them inert, and let them watch the rest of the game.
Next best is to make them a 40 foot tall flying Mauler with flame breath that poops boltmines and eats raw biometal for ammo.

Right?

Hahaha

I'd take option B with the esc screen if possible :)

I think you can find a way to just blowup all the untis they have/recieve. And you can have the DLL issue the command change role for them if they're too lazy to click "give command"

I would prefer them being locked on the view of a surviving ally.

I'm not even sure if that's possible.

Can't you just tell a camera to follow.

Get the dll to handle the death, then create an invisible unit as the dead player, kill the pilot, and as the dll is handling the death, the player will stay in it anyway, then add a pilot to the invisible ship and tell it to follow another player around. This way the dead player is actually in a ship piloted by the ai.

That's a bit clunky. Simple camera commands would work better. I mean, there are camera commands.

Anybody noticed this?
Both the NSDF and CCA Single Player missions are done.

CCA actually means Co-Curriculum Activity... Sorry if I've done this at the wrong time just wanted you to notice it. (Yea it's quite strange and all...)

Oh yeah, how come they never reveal what those acronyms mean?

No, you can continue talking about the cameras if you wish....

They do say what they mean. If you do not know, look it up! For example, type NSDF or CCA into the BZComplex wiki, you get National Space Defense Force and Cosmo Colonist Army!
